Founder, The Hooting Owl
In 2016, with the intention of retirement, Dominic purchased Barmby Moor House, a famous coaching inn in the East Riding of Yorkshire, where above the main entrance, sits the statue of a golden owl.
However, retirement was not to be. The desire, born in childhood, to use unique ingredients, precisely crafted with love and patience to create something with an exquisite taste that would bring people together was still waiting to be fulfilled.
A conversation with a distiller at a local food festival sparked Dominic’s inquisitive nature. He spent months researching distillation and came to understand how small changes in the process can lead to huge differences in flavour.
